Poem

drip drop went the rain
as the slippery spider silk
gathered beads
the spider,
frozen in time,
dangled from a single thread
hoping he wouldn't end up dead
the rain ceased
spider in one
mended its web in the sun

Consonance
Sibilance
Hyperbole

One time about two years ago me and some classmates had a big project. everybody had ideas that we implicated. The despot of a teacher commanded that we build the project out of things we already owned. The owner of home depot was the beneficiary of my parents money. After constructing the makeshift project we presented.
I saw grins on my classmates faces. I knew what they were gawking at. The project made last minute by me and my friends. We shakily presented and waited for questions. We were all waiting for our projects demise.

In ATDPTI I really admire Junior as a character. He looks funny, stutters, and has a lisp. despite these challenges he took a leap of faith and decided to transfer to Rearden. the book surprised me, by how quickly and unexpectedly people at the new school start to accept Junior. I like that he has made a friends with Gordy, I think they have a lot in common.
Another character I like is Rowdy. He stands up for the little guy and isn't scared of a fight. He would fight anybody that touched junior. However, I dislike how he suddenly hates Junior since he moved schools. It seems to me that he is overreacting.

Research Reflection

This past week, I learned a lot of things about writing and research. One is as you all probably know, I accidentally deleted my outline. I know, I'm really dumb. Now I know how to avoid doing that ever again. That experience made me very mad and stressed.
Another thing I learned about the writing process is that a good outline can help a lot. After rewriting my outline and improving it, writing the actual rough draft was a lot easier. I mostly just copy and Pasted the information over while commenting on it in between. In total I only spent about four hours writing, in my opinion that is pretty short. Other than a few mess-ups I have overall enjoyed the writing process.

Mardi Gras

Mardi Gras is one of those holidays that I don’t really care for. All it is, is drunk people throwing beads with a thick layer beer and whatever else was happening on the float at drunk people’s faces. The only reason I like it is that we don’t have to go to school and that I usually go skiing during the break. Every year a parade passes right in front of my house. After all of the “fun” is over I have to clean up all of the beer cans left around the house.
One Mardi Gras, when I was about ten years old and my views of Mardi Gras weren’t tainted I invited some friends to my house for the parade I mentioned before. I was having a great time. I had a huge bag full of beads and was drenched in beer. Then some group of jerks on a float thought it would be funny to pelt a ten-year-old kid with rock hard moon pies. That was it Mardi Gras was ruined and it still is, and wil probably be that way until I die.

As you all know we are reading the Absolutely True Diary of a Part Time Indian. I don’t quite understand title of this book, because it says part time. This might be mentioned later in the book, but I have not come across anything about part time. I do like how the Author wrote this book like a journal. I love the funny illustrations thrown in every few pages.

Over my years I have not come across many books that can make me laugh. This one does the job! Every three pages I catch myself giggling at a sarcastic joke. I love how the author is writing about himself. Everything good and everything bad. I look forward to finishing this book.
