I joined the cross country team,
because I liked the yellow sweatshirts that I always saw people wearing, but it
turns out cross country is so much more. It is a united family, who looks after
one another. It is waking up at six A.M. on a Saturday to go run two miles. It
is john harris cracking jokes to cheer everybody up after nearly dying. Cross
country is more than people think, unfortunately…
Running is in my blood, but it is
not in my legs, my feet, or my lungs. Even though I am not the fastest on the
team, I still enjoy being on it. Cross Country makes me a better person every
day. It has made my pain tolerance go up, a LOT. So if you are thinking about
joining, just do it.
Yeah, I agree, cross country isn't all about the running and suffering. The running and suffering is the worst part, but it's so worth it in the end. You described cross country really well.
ReplyDeleteWhen I was in cross country I liked it a lot because it was more about family than sports. I thought it was funny when you said running was not in your legs. This is very well written, good job.
