100 word story

"bye kathy, your in charge, see you later tonight."
"bye mom"
I sat down at the kitchen table to do my homework. I opened my backpack and pulled out my math binder and my pencil with a feather hanging off the end. I tore through the math problems as if they were steaks and I was a hungry dog. Then I heard the front door open. Then close. I could not see the door due to a wall, blocking the dining room from the front entrance way and the stairs. I froze terror. unable to move I just listened. Heavy footsteps, not like my mothers, slowly creeped past the entrance area. They to my relief turned and bumped their way up the stairs. Minutes went by. I heard the heavy steps come back down the stairs and go out the door. I then remembered that my baby sister was taking a nap upstairs.

What is equality? According to the story Harrison Bergeron equality means everybody is completely equal. Smart people have mental handicaps that don't allow them to think. Strong people have weights around their necks. Pretty people have ugly masks on.
I think that equality is everybody getting the same opportunities and chances, whether you take that chance, or aren't up to the task is then your decision. Harrison Bergeron takes equality to the extreme, making the world a whole lot less productive. If smart people can't think, then nothing would ever change. I hope that this never happens to any civilization. If it does eventually happen then I hope I'm long dead before it does.

dear 7 year old redone

Dear seven year olds, don't complain about homework, its nothing compared to high school.  next off don't cry about anything. When you don't get what you want and its not fair, suck it up and forget about it. Life is not fair. plus crying is annoying and will make everybody think your a crybaby. lastly, you should accept that not everybody is going to like you.
My last word of advise is to enjoy being seven while you can. It only lasts one year. Being fifteen does have its perks. Seven was pretty fun though. Just remember this advise and you will definitely survive until you are eight.

reading response- redone

I am reading Code Orange by Caroline B. Cooney. The Auther has engaged my attention so far by using details to describe the plot. While reading I can actually see what is going on. I have loved reading this extraordinary book. So far the main character, Mitty, has developed the symptoms of small pox.
I feel that this is significant, because the author is foreshadowing. Based on the title I think that there will be some kind of apocalypse. I think this because Mitty is researching small pox and bioterrorism. The author has had me anticipating the fall of New York from the beginning of the book. So far my response to the book has been positive.

9/11 attack

On September, 11, 2001 a terrorist group led by Osama Bin Laden hijacked four planes. The most well known attack on 9/11 was the bombing at the world trade center. 2606 innocent people were killed in those two towers.
Another attack was on the pentagon in Arlington Virginia. The last plane was won back by its passengers and was then crashed in a field. This tragedy was a wake up call on the US. It had led to increase in airport security which has probably stopped many more terrorist attacks.

reading

I am currently reading Code Orange by caroline B. Cooney. The Auther has engaged my attention so far, by keeping me on my toes waiting for something to happen. Another way the author does this is all of the foreshadowing that is happening with the main character doing research on infectious diseases.
The detail that the author uses adds to the book reading experience, because the way that she used vivid details in describing the symptoms of variola major also known as small pox, almost made me gag. So far I Have thoroughly enjoyed this book. I would recommend it to anybody who likes apocalyptic kind of stuff.

Race!

Saturday morning, six A.M. Thats when I wake up to eat breakfast. crunchy peanut butter on toast with a banana, the perfect breakfast. I put on my super short shorts and gold tank top. I was ready to go.
The ride felt like a year. I arrived at Highland to find out I had to run a two mile warm up. After that the race would start. my heart was pumping faster than an engine. TAKE YOUR MARK BAAAAA the sound every runner knows so well.

to be continued...

RACE! 2

The race had just begun, I was already dying only 200m into the race. I pass the half mile mark, then the one. I was half way there, I passed the one and half mark. 800m to go I would tell myself. I could see the finish line, I gave it the rest I had. It was over, I had finished it.
I then had to walk through a long chute at the end. I drank at least three cups of water. Then I hear everybody, cool down. That meant that we had to run at least another mile and a half. This is what happens every saterday if you run cross country.
